  • Executive Branch AdvocacyCBHA engages in regular advocacy efforts with key agencies and officials within the executive branch of our state. These efforts include meetings with leaders such as the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, representatives from Healthcare and Family Services, the Divisions of Mental Health and Substance Use Prevention and Recovery, the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation), and other pertinent agencies. The objective of these engagements is to collaboratively address administrative challenges and other barriers that may hinder CBHA members' ability to effectively serve their clients and communities. By fostering these relationships and advocating for improved policies and practices, CBHA strives to enhance the operational environment for behavioral health providers across the state.

    Participation in CBHA Committees: CBHA offers opportunities for participation in various internal committees dedicated to addressing critical issues within the behavioral health industry.   • Annual Spring Advocacy Day: In collaboration with industry allies, CBHA hosts an annual Advocacy Day, a pivotal event where members engage directly with legislators to advocate for critical issues impacting the behavioral health sector.

  • Discount Access to CBHACon: CBHA offers discounted access to CBHACon, our premier community behavioral health conference held annually in December. This event gathers hundreds of providers, state officials, vendors, advocates, and stakeholders from across the state.
