Community Behavioral Healthcare Association (CBHA) The Community Behavioral Healthcare Association of Illinois (CBHA) is a statewide not-for-profit membership organization representing the interests of community behavioral healthcare agencies in Illinois. CBHA serves as a unified voice and support network for community behavioral healthcare agencies in Illinois, ensuring they have the resources, representation, and advocacy needed to deliver high-quality services to individuals and families across the state. Our Mission To represent the interests of our members in order to ensure access and availability of a comprehensive system of accountable, quality behavioral healthcare services for the people of Illinois.Our Vision To create an accessible, consumer and family responsive, efficient, effective, fully unified and principled healthcare system.Membership CBHA represents nearly 100 organizations in Illinois that offer a wide array of mental health, substance use and prevention services, to children, youth, adults, and families. These member organizations are vital in providing essential services and supports within their communities. Governance CBHA is governed by an 11-member board of directors. The board members are elected from four geographic regions of Illinois: Northeast District, Northwest District, Southern District, and Central District. The regional representation ensures that the board can address and advocate for the unique issues and challenges faced by behavioral healthcare providers in different parts of the state.Regional Focus The provider members of CBHA are also organized into these same four geographic regions. This regional structure allows CBHA to tailor its conversations, resources, and advocacy efforts to address the specific needs and concerns of providers in each region. By doing so, CBHA can better support its members and effectively advocate for policies and initiatives that benefit the entire community behavioral healthcare sector in Illinois.Advocacy and Support CBHA works to advance policies and initiatives that improve
access to essential mental health and substance use services. Our advocacy
efforts focus on securing increased funding, shaping legislation, and raising
awareness about the critical need for mental health and substance use
treatment. Our work at both the state and national levels ensures that policies are supportive and responsive to the needs of individuals facing mental health and substance use disorders. By engaging with policymakers, conducting research, and building partnerships, CBHA helps to drive improvements in the quality and availability of care. |
